A double interpretation, used in a single performance, switching between two distinctly different interpretations, ignoring the unwritten general rule that an interpretation should display one overall coherence. Søren did this experiment twice. The first version is inspired by the poem , which jumps between a “young” and “old” perspective. The second version switches between “rhythmic” and “pathetic”. As it is shown in the score, the switching is done at the same place in both experiment.
